At the Human Repair Shop, we understand the significant advantages of incorporating physiotherapy into the care and recovery process for sports-related injuries. Our highly skilled Physiotherapists are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries.
Here’s how physiotherapy at human repair shop can help you with your sporting injuries:
Assessment: Our Physiotherapists will assess the extent of the injury, identify the underlying causes, and develop a personalised treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Our assessment process includes discussions about your symptoms and the details surrounding the injury, a thorough physical examination, and potentially imaging studies.
Communicate: Our Physiotherapists will communicate with your healthcare professionals , such as physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, and sports trainers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to injury management.
Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques such as massage, joint mobilisation, and soft tissue manipulation can be used to improve tissue flexibility and promote healing.
Pain Management: Physiotherapists can employ various techniques, such as manual therapy, modalities (e.g., ice, heat, ultrasound, dry needling, acupuncture), and exercises to alleviate pain and inflammation associated with the injury.
Functional Rehabilitation: Physiotherapy focuses on functional activities and movements relevant to the individual’s sport. This ensures that the athlete can return to their sport with the necessary strength, flexibility, and coordination.
Restoring Function: The ultimate goal of physiotherapy is to restore the injured area to its optimal function. This may involve exercises and functional activities to regain range of motion, strength, and mobility.
Education and Prevention: Physiotherapists educate athletes on proper body mechanics, training techniques, and injury prevention strategies to reduce the risk of future injuries.
No need to bring in any x-rays, CT scans or MRI’s , with your permission we can access them for you electronically.
Also we accept all major health funds so you are not out of pocket. Making your visit stress free.
