We Care We Listen We Empower
At human repair shop, we understand that Physiotherapy and Pilates play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process for individuals undergoing pre and post-surgical procedures. These interventions are essential for recovery after surgeries such as hip replacements, knee surgeries, shoulder replacements, and spinal surgeries.
Physiotherapy and Pilates exercises are designed to help you regain mobility, strength, and functionality, while effectively managing pain. Pre-surgical physiotherapy helps optimise your physical condition, which can lead to better outcomes after surgery.
At human repair shop, we support you through your pre and post-surgical journey, not just physically but mentally as well. Our physiotherapists provide strategies to help reduce surgery-related anxiety, improve coping skills, and mentally prepare for the procedure, ensuring a better overall experience.
Pre-Surgical Physiotherapy Benefits
Education and Preparation:
We understand that you may have many questions about your upcoming surgery. Our physiotherapists provide education to help you better understand the process, what to expect during recovery, and how to prepare for the procedure. We also liaise with your surgeon and GP to tailor your treatment and expectations for a smoother recovery.
Individualised Treatment Plans:
Every person is unique, and so is their recovery journey. Our pre-surgical physiotherapy plans are personalised to meet your specific needs, considering the type of surgery, overall health, and any pre-existing conditions. This tailored approach ensures a safe and effective rehabilitation process.
Strengthening and Conditioning:
Our physiotherapy-led Pilates exercises focus on strengthening the muscles around the affected joint, enhancing joint stability, and reducing the risk of complications during and after surgery, leading to a smoother recovery.
Pain Management:
We help manage pre-existing pain before surgery using various techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and electrical stimulation, improving comfort and preparing you for the surgery.
Post-Surgical Physiotherapy Benefits
Accelerated Recovery:
Physiotherapy accelerates recovery by reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and preventing stiffness, helping you regain mobility faster and enhancing your quality of life after surgery.
Individualised Post-Surgical Plans:
Every surgery is different, which is why we collaborate with your surgeon to create personalised post-surgical physiotherapy treatment plans. These plans consider the type of surgery, overall health, and any pre-existing conditions to ensure an effective and safe recovery process.
Preventing Complications:
We work to identify and address potential post-surgical complications, such as joint stiffness, muscle weakness, and improper gait patterns, minimising the risk of complications and improving long-term outcomes.
Strengthening and Muscle Function:
After surgery, immobility often leads to muscle weakness and atrophy. Our post-surgical Pilates exercises include strength training to rebuild muscle strength and regain functional independence.
Improving Quality of Life:
Physiotherapy not only helps restore mobility but also significantly enhances pain management and overall quality of life during recovery. Our physiotherapists use various pain management techniques such as heat therapy, cold therapy, ultrasound, and TENS to alleviate discomfort and promote healing.

After that I tried out Pilates and absolutely love it. Orla supervises personally and ensures the right level for me.
